The DMIC Project is a state sponsored Industrial Development project of the government of India. Its objective is to develop an industrial zone spanning across six states in India viz. Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Southern Haryana, Eastern Rajasthan, Eastern Gujarat and Western Maharashtra. The project will result in major expansion of infrastructure and industry in the state falling along the route of the corridor. India and Japan have inked an agreement to set up a project development found which will have equal contribution by the Indian and Japanese Governments. The project covers an overall length of 1483 kms between Delhi and Mumbai and is estimated to cost 90 billion$.
A Dedicated Freight corridor (DFC) is being estimated over a distance of 1483 kms between Delhi and Mumbai passing through UP, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
